Hi, We are staying at AKL in Jan 2021 Jambo house. I know all the amenities are at Kidani Village. Does that mean we would have to walk to Kidani Village for the buses? Also, any tips for staying at AKL? Lastly, how is the weather in January? Thank you!

HAKUNA MATATA, and "Welcome home," Carlos! It's great to see you hEAR again at planDisney.

Carlos, my family and I just returned from a stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani Village and took advantage of the pool area over at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Jambo House, so I'm thrilled to talk to you about this resort.

Currently, as part of the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, you are correct that the restaurants and shops at Jambo House are not open. You will, however, find the pool area open and buses STILL picking up from Jambo House. You can hop aboard Disney's bus transportation to the parks or you can grab a shuttle over to Kidani Village if you want to give those legs a break!

Carlos, my family often likes to enjoy coffee and breakfast in our room. If you are the same, make sure to stock up on some essentials the night before at Johari Treasures, located in the main lobby over at Kidani Village. Here you can grab things like donuts and milk or prepackaged items like fresh fruit cups.

I would also encourage you to take advantage of Sanaa. We booked a table-service reservation here to enjoy my favorite menu item, the Indian-style Bread Service but also loved the quick-service breakfast available here. The Shahi Tukra French Toast was amazing- but of course my kids had to get the Mickey waffles!

One last tip for enjoying this resort is to make sure to allow time to explore all of the areas for animal viewing. My youngest son and I had so much fun searching for the best view of the giraffes because the best view is always changing. For spotting our animal friends, we loved the early mornings and late evenings, because the Florida sun in the summer is sweltering, but since you'll be visiting in January, you'll find mild temperatures during the day with cooler evenings. While the weather can be unpredictable, January is a very comfortable month with high temperatures in the low 70's, but make sure to pack a few sweatshirts, or leave room in your budget for a Spirit Jersey

Carlos, I hope this helps as you are planning ahead for your January vacation. Please come back and see us here at planDisney with any other questions you may have. We are all EARS.
