Hi-we will be sailing on the Wonder from San Diego in November. We will be flying in the day before we leave on the cruise and are trying to figure out the best way to get from a hotel to the port. We appreciate any suggestions you can give us. Thanks

Hello, Joann! Welcome back to planDisney, where my pals and I are happy to have you sail back to us with another question.

My family is also making plans to set sail from San Diego later this year, and it's a great embarkation port for us folks on the West Coast. There is nothing like shorter travel times before the fun begins! I'd love to help you feel ship-shape and ready to sail.

The first option (and one my family has used several times) is to use an app-based ride-share service. If you want to be precise with your pick-up time, most ride-share services offer an option to schedule a ride in advance for a specific pick-up time.  Just be sure to choose a vehicle category that will comfortably fit your travel party and your luggage. My family of four is usually very happy with the "XL" option when selecting our ride. Depending on where you are staying, the Port of San Diego Cruise Ship Terminal could be a very short ride (or even a pleasant walk) away, making this option pretty budget-friendly.

Disney Cruise Line agents can also assist in your accommodation and transportation planning. You can book a pre-cruise hotel night at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego through Disney Cruise Line and add transportation from the resort to the port for an additional fee. If you'd like to go this route, please call Disney Cruise Line for assistance.

You can also call Disney Cruise Line to request that they assist in booking a private transfer for your sailing party from your hotel to the port. In these cases, the agent you speak with will take down your information, and you will be contacted with a quote if they can accommodate your request.

Once you have your transportation plans secured, you can look forward to all that will be included during your sailing. I especially love dining in Tiana's Place onboard the Disney Wonder and look forward to ordering the sea bass and enjoying the live jazz entertainment.

I'm wishing you a most wonderful sailing! Please sail back and ask me a question anytime!

    Happy Planning,

    Adrianna
