Ahoy, Kerrie!
Thanks for cruising by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I'm sure you're counting down the days until you set sail on the gorgeous
Disney Dream!
I, like your mom, prefer a magnifying mirror when I'm putting on my makeup. If I can't see up close to put on my mascara, I'm going to be walking around the ship looking like a raccoon!
Disney Cruise Line staterooms were built with families in mind, and one of the best features is the split bathroom. One section of your bathroom has a sink, mirror, and toilet, while the other side has a sink, mirror, and shower/tub. This makes it so convenient for one family member to be able to shower while another gets ready in the other half of the bath! The mirror in the "shower" half of the bathroom has a small section that's magnified, but I don't usually put on my makeup in that part of the bathroom because it's sometimes steamy from the shower (it's perfect for my husband's face-shaving needs, though). I like the lighting better in the other part of the split bath, or I enjoy sitting at the desk area to put on my makeup and dry my hair. I typically pack a small magnifying mirror to use in one of these areas.
I hope this helps with your planning and packing. Have a magical day! - Diane W.
