Hi, We have reservations in May to celebrate my sons 9 yr old birthday at WDW. Also, have a 4 yr old gilrl. Any suggestions on Character Dining, or any dinning in general, geared to a boy that age please? And your opinion on the best for my daughter?

    Hi, Lisa!

Advanced dining reservations in Walt Disney World are definitely the way to make any birthday visit even more magical, great question!

First, consider a birthday dinner at Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Served buffet-style, this is a great opportunity to meet Mickey, Minnie and Pals while enjoying a delicious meal that just a hop away from Magic Kingdom. You may also like Tusker House Restaurant (which I think has just about the best salmon on property) where you can meet Donald, Mickey and Friends at both breakfast and lunch while at Animal Kingdom Park. We also really love the buffet at The Crystal Palace, too, which features Winnie, Tigger and Friends, and the selection is truly wonderful. (Try Pooh's Puffed French Toast at breakfast...yum!)

For something a little different, consider a meal at Coral Reef Restaurant, at Epcot's The Seas with Nemo & Friends with views of over 4,000 sea creatures swimming gracefully as you dine. Another favorite is Teppan Edo at Epcot's Japan Pavilion, where talented and entertaining chefs prepare your meals hibachi-style right at your table.

For your little princess, try Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, at Epcot's Norway Pavilion, where you'll dine with favorite princesses and, if you're on a Dining Plan, will only need to use 1 Table-Service entitlement to do so. The newest restaurant, of course, Be Our Guest Restaurant in the New Fantasyland expansion of Magic Kingdom has gotten rave reviews for its menu as well as the ambiance of dining in Beast's Castle, too.

So many choices! Be sure to send more questions, Lisa, as I'd love to give you more details.
