Hi, We are planning on visiting Hollywood studios around July 30, 2024. We are not staying on a Disney property. What’s the best way to better our chances of getting on Rise of the Resistance? Thanks!

Hello there Kim, and welcome to planDisney!

Whether you're coming to visit the planet Batuu here at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge from a nearby Disney Resort Hotel or traveling in from further regions in the Outer Rim there are definitely some great strategies to better your odds on your way to experiencing Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance sooner! I'm absolutely happy to help you navigate the following courses of action that you and your crew can take:

    • In and around Black Spire Outpost, the residents may greet you with the sayings "Bright Suns" or "Rising Moons" and with that in mind, some of the greatest successes I've personally experienced with minimal waits to ride have taken place either very early in the morning or very late at night at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Taking a look at the Walt Disney World Resort Hours & Events Calendar for the day of your visit, it looks like operating hours will extend from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. so I highly recommend arriving an hour early in order to rope drop (hoping to enter the standby queue just as Disney Resort Hotel guests with Early Theme Park Entry have already ridden and moved on) or alternatively skipping the nighttime entertainment like Fantasmic! or the fireworks of Wonderful World of Animation to take your chance to ride just before closing time. With some great timing and the sort of luck that spaceport scoundrels prize, aiming late while most guests are enjoying the shows has resulted in some rewardingly low waits!
    • Another additional paid option that you might want to explore is attending Disney After Hours at Disney's Hollywood Studios, which is a separately-ticketed nighttime event that sees far fewer guests than you'd have to contend with during the day and in my experience is the best way to be able to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance several times with significantly lower waits!
I hope this helped, Kim - don't hesitate to come back to us at planDisney for any other stellar strategies as you make your way down to Florida on your upcoming Disney adventures!

Wishing you all the best on your ride quest, and May the Force be with you,
    Prince
