Hi, We are planning a vacation October 2014. I'm thinking we will be staying at the CBR. Can you tell me the difference between the standard rooms and the preferred rooms? Is it worth the extra expense? Thanks!

    Hi, Ami!

I’m happy to hear you’re planning a vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort this fall! That’s one of my favorite times to visit because of the milder weather and festive seasonal extras that come with Halloween.

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is a large, tropical-themed moderate resort in the Epcot area. Preferred rooms are located closest to Old Port Royale, the main activities area housing the food court, restaurant, shops, lobby and arcade, plus a large pool, water slide and whirlpool. The bus stop and parking lot are also in this area. Although the walk between Old Port Royale and the resort rooms is scenic, it can be lengthy—some are up to 15 minutes away. Booking a preferred room cuts down on walking distance and adds convenience, which can be very important to some Guests. These rooms are located in the Martinique and Trindad North sections of the resort.

If anyone in your party has mobility or endurance limitations, or if you’d just like to save every ounce of energy for exploring the theme parks, I would recommend booking a preferred room so you can be as close to the resort hub as possible. I hope this is helpful, Ami, and that you have a great Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Please visit us again with more questions as your trip approaches!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
