Hi! We have Oogie Boogie Bash tickets. Would I be allowed to bring in a galaxys edge lightsaber? Also, could I bring in a costume mask just for a photo, and take it off within a few moments, or would security prevent me from bringing a mask into the party?

Hello again Ilona! Welcome back to planDisney - it's so great to hear your next trip will be here in just a few short weeks!

What fantastic news that you got tickets to Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party! I took my son at the end of September and we had a blast.

I'm happy to report that we saw quite a few lightsabers when we were there, so you should be just fine taking in your "elegant weapon for a more civilized age." According to the Disneyland Resort Dress Code for Special Events, plastic Lightsabers are acceptable accessories, but "Masks of any kind may not be worn." Therefore, I would recommend not bringing the costume mask that you mentioned.

It was a fairly busy night when we attended Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party a few weeks ago, but all the lines went much quicker than I anticipated! The Cast Members did a great job managing them and we ended up with a ton of candy that we're still working through.

Since you can enter Disney California Adventure Park with your special event ticket as early as 3:00 P.M., I would most definitely recommend getting into the park at least by 5:00 PM so that you're not stuck waiting in line to enter when the event starts at 6:00 PM. You can check in to the party when you enter the park to receive the event map and your treat bag (though I would recommend bringing a large backpack to store extra candy as you will receive quite a bit!).

The interactions that seemed to have the longest waits were the photo opportunities, so if there are characters you're absolutely DYING to see, I might prioritize those first. Additionally, I noticed the queue for the Villains Grove experience was pretty long, so you might want to prioritize that as well, but you'll need to wait until dark to experience it!

I hope you have an amazing time during your visit, Ilona! Thanks again for your question - stop by to see us again with any other follow-ups you think of. We're always happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
    Greg
