Hi,we made reservation at WALT DISNEY WORLD SWAN RESERVE frm Nov 21-25 n was lookin at ThemePark Reservation Availability, none of my stay days has availblty for MagicKingdom so want to know if we need to cancel trip becoz we cant reserve Magic kingdm

    Hi, Venkata! Welcome to planDisney!

How exciting that you're going to be among the first Guests to stay at the brand new Walt Disney World Swan Reserve Hotel! It looks absolutely beautiful from the outside, and I'm sure the inside will be just as grand. Plus, since you'll only be a leisurely stroll or a short boat ride from EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios, the location is practically perfect!

I'm so sorry you've been unable to make Disney Park Pass reservations to visit the Magic Kingdom Park during your visit so far. It's lots of fun to be at Walt Disney World during Thanksgiving week, but that does mean that the parks are likely to be quite busy. The decision to cancel and visit another time is up to you, of course, but there are still ways you can enjoy your Thanksgiving vacation even if you can't manage to score those reservations.

First, if you have the Park Hopper Option added to your tickets, you might be able to head to the Magic Kingdom Park in the afternoon when park hopping hours open. You'll just make a reservation for a park that does have availability that day and spend the morning there. Then, you can "hop" to the Magic Kingdom Park after 2 p.m.! Keep in mind that park hopping may be limited if the theme parks are at capacity in the afternoon, so you'll want to watch your My Disney Experience mobile app before trying to hop.

Also, you can have lots of fun without even visiting a theme park at all! My family has Annual Passes with blockout dates, so we often plan non-park vacations where we enjoy all the amenities of our Resort hotel. We also love to grab a bite and do some shopping at Disney Springs, check out the other Disney Resorts Collection hotels, hit the Disney Water Parks, and even take a ride aboard Disney transportation like the monorail and the Disney Skyliner. It's a great way to have a little extra Disney fun beyond the theme parks!

I hope I've been able to give you some ideas for spending your Disney days, Venkata. If you decide to postpone your trip, give Guest Relations a call and a Cast Member will be happy to help you find a time that works for your family. Thank you so much for stopping by to see us, and have a joyous Thanksgiving holiday!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
