Gillie:
If you're wanting to eat in the parks, I like
Coral Reef with its aquarium that takes up one entire wall of the restaurant. This view entertains the kids--and the young at heart--in the group while the menu appeals to all ages. If you've never eaten at a Japanese steakhouse, I also recommend
Teppan Edo. Its chefs will entertain you as they cook your dinner in front of your eyes.
Outside of the parks, your options are almost limitless. The
California Grill atop the Contemporary Resort captivated my 10-year-old with a view that was breath-taking and the menu offered lots of choices, even for picky eaters.
Ohana in the Polynesian Resort provides coconut races for the young ones in the group and all-you-can-eat skewers of delicious steak, chicken and shrimp served tableside.
Sanaa at the Animal Kingdom Villas brings you right up close to the savanna, allowing everyone to watch everything from an anteater to an antelope up close. Schedule the earliest dinner reservation you can so that daylight is on your side for viewing. The menu is eclectic but provides plenty of choices for children who may only like the usual chicken nugget fare.
Wishing you a memorable birthday and a magical vacation!
