Hi, We had to evacuate for Hurricane Ida. In the rush to evacuate for Ida we forgot to pack the magic bands. My house is totally ruined, I'm sure the magic bands are ruined also. Will I have to pay for new ones or will Disney replace for free?

Hi, Sabrina! Welcome back to planDisney! It's truly a pleasure to chat with you again.

I'm so, so sorry your family was uprooted by Hurricane Ida, Sabrina. I know what a stressful time this must be, and I hope I can give you one less thing to worry about.

Disney usually handles issues like this on a case-by-case basis. Under normal circumstances, they most likely wouldn't replace MagicBands that have been lost or damaged, but this is definitely not a normal circumstance. I'd call Guest Relations and explain the situation to see what they can do. I know that Disney will do all they can to help make magic for Guests whenever possible.

I also wouldn't bet against the possibility that your MagicBands might actually be fine! They're waterproof, pliable, and made of a strong material, so they may well have survived the storm. I'd still check with Guest Relations, but I wonder if your sturdy MagicBands might just surprise you!

I hope your Walt Disney World Resort vacation gives your family some much-needed fun and relaxation after all you've been through, Sabrina. I wish you faith, trust, and pixie dust, and I hope you'll come see us again real soon.

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

    Kathy K.
