Hi We are driving down from Boston and will get to Disney around noon. We have an 18 month old and a 4.9 yr old. For a fun day, Boardwalk or Downtown Disney to let them run around and shop and have fun, esp after such a long car ride? Thanks!!!!

    Hi Kathy!

I would definitely recommend Downtown Disney for the whole family.  There's a lot to do there, and my family and I love to go when we are having Disney withdrawal.

While The Boardwalk is beautiful there isn't as much to do to keep young children entertained.  At Downtown Disney you can stroll through the numerous specialty shops, and your kids can enjoy the carousel and train rides. Make sure to stop at Ghirardelli for a delicious hot fudge sundae, and their shop for a free sample of chocolate.  You can also take the kids to the Lego store to look around and play.  It's amazing over there.  Also fun for the kids is the squirting fountain where parents sit and watch while their kids get soaked running around.

I hope you have a safe trip on your drive to Disney and you have a magical vacation.  By the way.  The Stitch over the doors of The World of Disney store spits water out of its mouth.  My kids love that!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
