Hi Kristin! Your question has me hearing the Monorail whirring through Disney’s Contemporary Resort!
To keep the treasured original Disney World hotel looking its absolute finest for Guests to enjoy, the
Contemporary Resort is undergoing maintenance and refurbishment in various locations.
The current refurbishment focuses on the atrium, the main tower, and Bay Lake Tower. Work on the main tower is limited to exterior work, which could affect a Guest’s views and exterior travel around the resort. This work is expected to continue through late 2027. As the refurbishment continues, Guests could see and hear construction during the daytime hours. Apparently, the workers like to whistle while they work!
Kristin, all three of the resort hotels along the Monorail loop – Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa are all currently undergoing various phases of refurbishment.
If a deluxe resort hotel, without ongoing refurbishment, is a priority for your upcoming vacation, you might want to consider
Disney’s Riviera Resort! This is one of my favorites! It is Disney World’s newest resort hotel! It also provides Disney Skyliner transportation to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT! A character dining breakfast is held each morning at Topolino’s Terrace. In the evening, Topolino’s Terrace is home to fine dining! The views from Topolino’s Terrace are some of the best in all of Disney World!
