Hi We are coming to disney this summer. I want to book some character dining experiences before we travel. I have to give my credit card details to ensure that I can reserve a table. Is this used for payment or can I still pay by cash on the day? Thanks

    Hi Susan,

Congratulations on your upcoming summer holiday!  It is a great idea to make Advanced Dining Reservations well in advance of your vacation in order to secure your favorite restaurants and dining experiences.  A credit card is required to make Advanced Dining Reservations at most Walt Disney World Resort restaurants.  Your credit card is not charged unless you do not cancel your reservation and fail to show up at the restaurant.  I also like to use cash and many times I have made Advanced Dining Reservations with my credit card but paid with cash at the restaurant.  The only exceptions are the Dining Experiences which state that you must pay in full to book.  Cinderella's Royal Table is an example of an Advanced Dining Reservation which requires prepayment to book.  When you are making your Advanced Dining Reservations online it will state whether your reservation requires a credit card guarantee or prepayment.  When making Advanced Dining Reservations over the telephone the Cast Member will tell you.

Thank you for your question Susan.  Please let us know if we can be of further assistance to your vacation planning.  Have a happy holiday!

    Blessings,
