Hi We are bringing 2 disabled grandchildren to Florida in September, one has Down’s syndrome with hypertonia so has difficulty walking & standing & the other has Autism & is unable to stand in line what help is available

Hi there, Maria - welcome to planDisney!

I'm glad you found us and decided to stop by with a question for our team of panelists. We love to help Guests just like you plan magical Walt Disney World Resort holidays!

Walt Disney World is a place where all Guests can make magical memories, and Disney has amazing services available to make that happen! You can check out the overview, but it sounds like your grandchildren may be eligible for and benefit from the Disability Access Service (DAS).

Once registered for DAS and inside a Theme Park, you are able to use the My Disney Experience Mobile App to select a return time for an attraction. Usually, this will be about the same amount of wait time that the regular standby queue currently has. Instead of waiting in the standby queue, your party can spend that time waiting wherever is most comfortable for you! When you return to the attraction at your return time, you'll use the Lightning Lane queue to access the attraction with minimal wait. After experiencing one attraction, you'll be eligible to make another return time selection for a different attraction. Each Guest registered for DAS can select up to five additional Guests to join their party and take advantage of the DAS return times. I suggest registering both of the little Mouseketeers!

Online pre-registration for DAS is currently only available within the United States. If you will be in the U.S. prior to your trip to Walt Disney World, you can take advantage of the pre-registration via video chat at least two but not more than 30 days in advance. The nice part about completing pre-registration online is that you'll have the option to make some attraction selections in advance. Don't worry if you can't register in advance - it's easy to register for DAS in person at a Guest Relations location once you're in one of the Theme Parks!

I hope this information is helpful as you continue planning your upcoming holiday. You'll be visiting during the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration, full of exciting new experiences, including my new favorite attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT!
