Hi Buffy! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your grandson is at the PERFECT age for a trip to Walt Disney World Resort. We last brought our son at 20 months, and oh goodness, there is almost
TOO much to do for preschoolers.
You'll for sure want to bring a few snack items that your grandson likes, just in case in the excitement of the day he doesn't want to eat at meal time, or is like my son and refuses the chicken nuggets that you ordered because they don't look like the ones he's used to eating at home. You're allowed to bring in as many outside snacks or meal items as you'd like to carry, so long as the only glass containers are baby food jars. If he still naps, decide now if you'd like to carve out time in the day to go back to your resort hotel for a rest, or if he'll be okay napping in a stroller while in the parks. And bring a jar of bubbles, or other small activities, as distractions during lines or while waiting for parades to start.
As for what to do we really enjoyed
Meeting Mickey on Main Street U.S.A., we loved loving on animals at the
Affection Section in Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, and bring a swimsuit in addition to a change of clothes to both Epcot and Magic Kingdom Park as both have a
splash pad where kids can cool off and run out some energy.
Your whole family is going to have an amazing time, Buffy. Make sure your grandson gets a Birthday celebration button from your resort hotel or at guest services, and save a piece of cake for Mickey!
