Hi, We have booked a table at Mama Mia's as we were led to believe this would be a good way to see the Fantasia show. Our booking is for 5.55pm. Can you help explain how this works? Many thanks in advance.

    Kevin:

It sounds like you've booked the Fantasmic! Dinner Package at Disney's Hollywood Studios. This package includes lunch or dinner at one of three restaurants: The Hollywood Brown Derby, Hollywood & Vine or, as in your case, Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano, one of my favorites. The package also includes a VIP ticket to Fantasmic!, the evening fireworks and light show.

At Mama Melrose's, you'll have your choice of an entrée, dessert, and non-alcoholic beverage. After you've eaten, you will receive your VIP voucher which allows you to enter the Fantasmic! amphitheater through a side entrance, accessing the VIP section. There are no reserved seats for the show, so having the VIP voucher allows you to skip the long standby line at the back for entry and arrive about 20 minutes before the show. (Be aware that if you arrive just before show-time, you might get a seat that is far to the right of the show's "action". Our family likes to arrive about 30 minutes beforehand and move as far to the center as possible. You're even allowed to just sit in the regular admission section if you'd rather.)

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
