Hello there, Karla, and welcome to planDisney!
I definitely understand that plans can change - I just had to do this same thing when my family and I visited last fall. While it's a pretty straightforward process, you are correct that it needs to be done in a certain order so you don't end up losing your reservation!
The process does involve canceling your current theme park reservation and then re-booking it for the other park, so I always recommend first checking the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar to confirm that the other park still has available reservations for the day(s) that you're looking to change.
After you have confirmed that Disneyland Park has available reservations for the date you're looking at switching, you'll want to visit
Disneyland.com and make sure you're signed in. Next, you'll hover over "My Disneyland" and select "Ticket and Reservation Details." On this next page, scroll down and click "View My Park Reservations," and you'll be taken to a page where you should now see your upcoming park reservations. From here, click "Cancel Reservation" on the day(s) that you want to switch, and then continue to the
Theme Park Reservation page to make those new reservations!
Since you have those
Park Hopper tickets, you'll be able to switch over to the other park starting at 11:00 AM for each day of your trip! It's typically less crowded in the mornings at each of the theme parks, so we usually like to prioritize rides and experiences that are harder to get into later in the day. Plus, if you're staying at one of the
hotels of the Disneyland Resort, then you'll also have access to
Early Entry!
I hope you have such a fun trip to the Happiest Place on Earth, Karla! Thanks again for your question, and feel free to come back and see us here at planDisney if you think of any follow-ups.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
