Hi, We are attending the Oogie Boogie Bash and are dressing up as various Star Wars characters. Can you bring a lightsaber with a metal hilt and plastic blade? Or can you bring just the metal hilt? Thank you! Maureen

Bright suns Maureen! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.

Your party is right around the corner. I bet you're excited! Are your costumes all ready? My family can join you in our Mandalorian costumes. Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party falls under the costume rules set for Special Events. Many Guests get into the spirit, which makes things extra exciting, but be sure to check that your out-of-this-galaxy costumes meet the requirements, so you're not turned away by security.

Those rules prohibit items that resemble weapons, but there is an exception for your plasma blades. Fear not, young Jedi, you should be okay bringing your lightsabers. If it's anything like the parties I've been to, you'll probably see lots of Force-sensitive Guests wielding their lightsabers. Wait, are you a practitioner of the Dark Side? Are there red blades among your party? Be careful of the path you choose. It will forever dominate your destiny.

Of course, it is always up to the discretion of security what can and can't enter the parks, but I don't expect you'll have any difficulty with the hilt and plastic blade. So, get ready to have a frightfully good time! The mischievous Characters on the Treat Trails look hauntingly fun, and you can grab some spooky grub for a limited time too. Check out Disney Eats for all the foodie information you crave to power your way through the party or maybe even help you make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parasecs.

May the Force be with you.
