Hello, James David, and thanks so much for returning to planDisney once again!
Just like you, all my own MagicBands are from previous, pre-Covid holidays spent with our pal Mickey Mouse at Walt Disney World Resort.
Plus, it has to be said that I'm also looking forward in the near future to using my all-new MagicBand+ for the very 1st time! I'm especially excited to discover all the Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters within
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at
Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which is one of the new in-park experiences available to Guests who have
MagicBand+ at Walt Disney World Resort as detailed within this past Disney Parks Blog article.James David, I'm more than happy to share that in my own personal experience, the battery life of MagicBands typically last longer than you'd think!
For instance, I have some of the original MagicBands from when they were 1st released to Walt Disney World Resort Guests way back in December 2013, and they lasted much longer than the generally expected 2-year battery life span.
My best planDisney advice would be for you to pack your MagicBands from your previous Disney holidays in your luggage and then test their magical capabilities upon arrival at Walt Disney World Resort. After all, you never just know when a little magic may happen!
However, my one caveat to
re-using MagicBands from previous Disney trips, is that older MagicBands may not have the ability, or potentially have a limited capture ability to
magically receive
Disney PhotoPass Attraction videos or select Attraction photos.
James David, I hope I've been able to provide yet a little more information for you today. Please know you'll always have a friend in
me here at planDisney!
Have a great Disney day ~ Jane
