Hi..This will be my first split stay at Disney (AKL to POP) What is the best way to transfer me and my luggage to the second resort?

    Hi Holly,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for asking us a question!

Split stays are so much fun because you really get to enjoy different sides of Walt Disney World Resort… all in one vacation! You’ve picked two of my favourite Disney Resorts Collection hotels: Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and Disney’s Pop Century Resort. Those two hotels couldn’t be more different, which I think is a really great way to visit the different “sides” of a Disney Parks vacation.

You have several options for transferring your luggage to Disney’s Pop Century Resort. The one with the least amount of lifting and hauling would be to call Bell Services from your room at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, tell them you’re transferring to Pop and then they’ll take care of everything for you. You’re then free to go about your Disney Day, visit a Theme Park or Disney Springs and then take Disney Bus Transportation (or, if you’re at EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Disney Skyliner) to your next hotel. That said, I’ve done this several times and I’ve found that there are often delays associated with inter-Resort luggage transfers because I’ve had a pretty long wait for my luggage at the end of the night.

If you don’t mind doing the heavy lifting yourself and spending a few of your vacation dollars to have peace of mind, I think that using the Minnie Van service would be your best option. Simply request a ride through the Lyft app, bring your luggage with you and ride in style over to Disney’s Pop Century Resort. You can then leave your luggage directly with Bell Services and have peace of mind knowing that everything is already at your next hotel, waiting for your room to be ready.

I hope my answer helps you plan a smooth transition between your Resorts during your upcoming vacation. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
