Can you hire mobility scooters for the duration of you holiday at Disney?

    Hello, Linda, welcome to planDisney!

Thank you for your question about mobility scooters during your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. If this is your first visit to Disney World, you will quickly see how vast the property is encompassing the four theme parks, plentiful number of Disney Resorts Collection hotels, two water parks, and plenty of shopping and dining options. There is so much to see and do on your vacation, that it is important to plan ahead and see what options are available to you to ensure your comfortability and accessibility.

I am happy to inform you that Disney offers Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs) for rent at all four theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs! While you cannot rent an ECV for the duration of your stay, you can rent them daily for $65 USD and a refundable $20 USD deposit (prices subject to change). Here are some helpful facts: Daily rentals are transferable between parks, meaning you can rent from the Magic Kingdom in the morning, return it before leaving the park, and use your receipt to access an ECV rental when you arrive at your next park (subject to availability). Along the same lines, ECVs must stay within the park or area where they were rented. But most importantly, ECV rentals are on a first-come, first-served basis, and reservations are not accepted. If you're staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel and using complimentary transportation, you can rest assured that most options accommodate guests with mobility disabilities.

If you are interested in an ECV for the duration of your vacation, you may find peace of mind by renting through Scooterbug, a Disney-featured provider. I suggest using your favorite internet search engine to do your due diligence before making a reservation. I would also suggest adding something colorful to your ECV to make it easier to identify when exiting attractions and experiencing queues, like a ribbon or balloon. Another good thing is a rain cover for those random Florida rain storms!
