Hi Kathy! That is such a great question that you brought to planDisney! My wife and I have been taking our sons (now 16, 16, and 12) to the Walt Disney World Resort since they were little Mouseketeers! We have also entered that phase where we are looking for brand new adventures! Fortunately, the Walt Disney World Resort is constantly imagining new experiences and reimagining existing attractions! I’m happy to provide a few tips!
First, I strongly recommend a visit to Disney Springs for the brand new Cirque du Soleil show!
Drawn to Life opens in November! This show brings together the powers of Disney animation, imagineering, and the human strength and talents of the Cirque performers! I had a sneak peek of this special show with some of my planDisney friends! Oh my gosh! Disney animation has just been brought to life in a way I never imagined possible. This show is stunning! I can’t wait to take my wife and sons to this show during our next visit!
We traditionally visit just the four main Disney Parks on our vacations. However, during our most recent visit in August, we decided to add
Disney’s Blizzard Beach to our itinerary. No regrets! The kids had a blast! In fact, my wife, who isn’t a huge water park fan, also had such a great time! When our trip was done, I asked the kids what they enjoyed most. The answer was unanimous...Blizzard Beach!
There are also a few newer and brand-new attractions in the parks! Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is a family-friendly (adorable) ride that opened in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! The pre-show and ride entrance is actually my favorite part of the attraction. I took my sons to this attraction. When the pre-show was done, my one son had a look of amazement and said, “Well, I didn’t see that coming!” And, over in EPCOT, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, the newest attraction to the Walt Disney World Resort, just opened!
Finally, Kathy, I wanted to do something special for my wife during our August visit! I booked a
Capture Your Moment photo session for our family! A 20-minute photo session in either Magic Kingdom Park or Disney's Animal Kingdom (your choice) costs around $50. Your daughters might enjoy a special photo shoot in the parks!
