HI! Planning our trip for the lest week of December . Planning on celebrating my youngest Sweet 16 at Hollywood Studios or Magic Kingdom. Is there anything I can do before we get there to make it extra special.

    Welcome to planDisney, Celenia!
Celenia, as Cinderella had her Fairy Godmother to get her to the ball, we are here to help! Now, let's talk through some ideas...

First, make sure you stop by Guest Relations at the theme park or the Front Desk of your Disney Resort Hotel to pick up a special birthday button. These complimentary buttons are a sure-fire way to get those birthday wishes flowing all day long. You never know who will be saying "happy birthday!"

Next, if you have room in your suitcase and consider yourself a sly fox like my favorite character from Zootopia, Nick Wilde, I recommend packing a birthday banner and then pulling it out as a surprise when you see a Disney PhotoPass photographer. Unique photo opportunities are one of my very favorite souvenirs and since your youngest is celebrating a big milestone, why not be camera ready?

Another fun idea to make that number 16 even sweeter is a special Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake. For a fee you can pre-order a cake to enjoy at a number of participating Table-Service restaurants. Since you are planning to be at Magic Kingdom Park or Disney's Hollywood Studios, I recommend making advanced dining reservations and then heading to that restaurant early in the morning to pre-order your birthday surprise. The following Table-Service restaurants are a great choice:

    At Disney's Hollywood Studios,
    50's Prime Time Café
    Hollywood & Vine
    Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant
    Mama Melrose Ristorante Italiano

    At Magic Kingdom Park,
    Cinderella's Royal Table
    Liberty Tree Tavern
Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen
    Tony's Town Square Restaurant
    The Plaza Restaurant

Finally, Celenia, if you're looking for a gift fit for Mickey Mouse himself, make sure to check out this set of birthday EARS! Even though your youngest is inching closer to adulthood, Walt Disney World Resort is the one place where we can all be a kid.

Celenia, I hope this helps as you are looking ahead to December and designing a Magical birthday trip. Please come on back and see us here at planDisney.

    Wishing you a pixie-dusted vacation,
    Lauren
