Hiya Nicole,
Welcome to planDisney! I am so excited to answer your question today! I’m the mom of two Mouseketeers under four, so we are also very much so in our Disney Junior era. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is constantly playing in our house, and my three-year-old is extremely excited to meet Bluey and Bingo this summer at Animal Kingdom for
Cool KIDS’ SUMMER.
In the past, you could find Fancy Nancy and Doc McStuffins greeting Guests over in Animation Courtyard, dancing at Disney Jr. Play and Dance!, and at Hollywood and Vine for Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine at Hollywood Studios. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen either of them around since the refurbishment of Animation Courtyard began. I’ve heard reports of surprise appearances at special events such as
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or on random days, but nothing permanent at this time. While I don’t know whether something like that will happen during your trip or whether anything permanent will be announced in the coming months, there is still time between now and your visit for new experiences to pop up. I suggest keeping an eye out on the
Disney Parks Blog to see if any announcements are made about Disney Junior appearances this summer.
I wish I had better news, Nicole, but I hope this was still helpful. Before I let you go, can I give you a little tip? Keep your eyes peeled in the theme parks, I know with littles having a plan is always best, but it is a wonder what you can spot when you are just walking around and soaking it in. For example, yesterday I was at EPCOT just enjoying the Festival of the Arts with my littles, and I looked to the left and saw King Louie from the Jungle Booth and Rafiki from The Lion King taking photos. It was such a lovely surprise and completely unplanned. I definitely would’ve missed King Louie had I not been just taking it easy and pushing my littles around World Showcase. But if you still want a plan, be sure to check your
My Disney Experience mobile app. In the map feature, you can also sort for character experiences! I use this when I am trying to find someone specific or adjust expectations for my toddler about who is out and about. It might not always reveal those spur-of-the-moment interactions, but it can definitely be a great starting point. I hope that your vacation is the Most Magical time ever. Please come back and see us if you need anything else.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
