Hello Christi!
Welcome back to planDisney! You have been a longtime visitor to the Panel and I would like to say that we appreciate you letting us help you!
I am so excited about your upcoming trip! A large party of family and friends sounds like my way to do the Parks. I have also visited Walt Disney World with a party of 13 and it was an exciting feat to secure Dining Reservations and experiences but we did it! Now,
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is one of my absolute favorite rides at Walt Disney World and I am very excited about
Tron Lightcycle/Run! At this time, the maximum party size for getting a
virtual queue is 10 people. I recommend choosing two people with the fastest fingers and phones to try and grab a virtual queue for the entire family. I would have a third person have their phone open with a clock with a second hand. Have the designated "clock person" countdown till 7 am and about 5 seconds before 7 am begin refreshing the screen and grab your spots. Make sure that your party is properly connected to your
Family & Friends. To be faster, as you have to take time to select guests consider splitting the group up a bit smaller between the two "fast phone" people so that there are fewer people to select. I would even consider unlinking some people from you that morning so that each of you has unique guests. (Link them back together with you when you are done) Every millisecond of you clicking on names could cost you a boarding group in the virtual queue. If you each have unique party members then all you need to do is select "entire party" which is one click and then proceed to the next screen. If you don't secure a boarding group you can try again at 1 pm as long as you are in the Park.
As for booking a
Lightning Lane entrance time with
Genie+ or purchasing an
Individual Lightning Lane, the maximum party size is 12. I would stick to the split group plan I mentioned above and have designated groups for each person who will be booking.
Now, if the times the two "fast phone" people end up with boarding groups or Lightning Lane times that are very different, I would visit a Guest Experience Team member in the Parks and nicely ask if they can assist you. Look for the big blue umbrellas throughout the Park that say
Guest Experience Team. I have had them help me fix some difficult bookings to help my family stay together. There are no guarantees but I have been told that if I was able to secure a boarding group or Lightning Lane then times can be adjusted. They are especially helpful when you have a conflicting Dining Reservation.
I hope this helps and that you all have a magical time!
Let me know if you have any more questions!
