Hi, Not sure where to stay. First trip to WDW in Oct., we are a family of 5 and my kids will be 8, 10, and 13. My mother-in-law will be joining us for 3 of our 4 nights so I'm thinking about 2 rms. at POR or cabin at Fort Wilderness Lodge.

Hi Lori! As much as I love the Fort Wilderness cabins I do NOT recommend them for a family of six!

The bedroom is small and includes a double bed and a bunk bed. There is one small closet and four small drawers and that is it for storage space. Its hard to have that room full and have suitcases out and available for you.  The bathroom is large but only one sink.  The kitchen is fully equipped and certainly a great draw for this type of lodging but not enough to be cramped your whole vacation.  The living area has a large table and four chairs and bench, TV, sofa, coffee table, small table and two chairs for the little ones, and a double Murphy bed that comes down from the wall. It is actually quite comfortable!  Again there is little storage for things in the living area. I think with the ages of your children you would be better off getting two rooms at a resort versus trying to all squeeze into a cabin for your vacation!
