Hi, My wife, myself and three kids age 8, 5, and 2 are coming to Disney June 27-July5, 2011. We are struggling with staying onsite or offsite, rental car or no rental car?? Our original thoughts were POR with a trundle, using Disney transportation?

    Hi Tyler,

I'm a big fan of staying on property because I love to leave the driving to Disney and take advantage of Disney transportation.  I've also found Magical Express (the free coach bus and luggage service for guests staying on property from Orlando International Airport.)  Once we arrive at Disney, we tend to stay on property.  However, if you are planning any day trips or excursions outside the perimeter of Walt Disney World, you may consider renting a car, as taxis can be expensive, and a one or multi-day rental might be a better option.

My entire family love the Disney Resorts, and we enjoy staying on-site, exploring our resort's well-themed pools, dining in its restaurants, etc.  We also tend to visit the parks in the early part of the day and then return in the evenings.  Having a room on property makes this very convenient.  (This was especially the case when my kids were younger and we returned "home" for a mid afternoon nap.)

Port Orleans is a wonderful, well-themed resort.  I stayed here last March and enjoyed my room, the resort's amenities and dining options.

Whatever you decide, have a magical trip!
