Hi My Wife and I have booked a Disneyworld Holiday for 2025 which includes the DDP. My question is “ If we book a sit down table service meal can we use a single credit rather than 2?” I’m asking this as some meals are extremely large and filling. Thanks

    Welcome to planDisney, Malcolm!

Thanks so much for asking us your question. I'd be delighted to discuss using a dining plan during your upcoming holiday. Let's dig in and get to the main course!

You and your wife are welcome to share an entree (and a table service dining credit) at most restaurants. The exception is any all-you-care-to-enjoy or dinner show experience, where you must each redeem one or two table-service meals, depending. Places like 'Ohana and Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, for example, do not permit plate sharing. Elsewhere, when you sit down, let your server know that you are using a dining plan and exactly which dishes you would like to be part of that plan. You could savor an entree and dessert with your dining plan and add an appetizer or two, paying for those separately.

If you plan to split an entree and dessert and sample a few starters, I'll share a few of my favorites for this strategy. The first restaurant I thought of was San Angel Inn Restaurante in EPCOT. It's a beautiful dining experience with several appetizers (Tostadas de Pollo is my favorite) and entrees that are ideal for sharing. In Magic Kingdom Park, I like Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen. Orinoco Ida's Cachapas and Mess Hall Fried Rice on the appetizer menu are excellent. For a shared entree, I recommend Nile Nellie's Noodle Bowl or Dr. Falls Signature Grilled Steak. Finally, Yak & Yeti™ Restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park has some of the largest portions I've seen in Walt Disney World, making it a great choice for sharing meals. It's also an interesting place to sit and take in the incredibly detailed, Nepalese-inspired decor.

I hope this is helpful and gives you some "food for thought" to make the most of your dining plan, Malcolm. Please write back to us if there is anything else we at planDisney can do to make your holiday even more memorable. Stay tuned to our Instagram account and the Disney Parks Blog as your adventure approaches to keep up with new offerings. Thanks again for visiting us, and have a magical day!

    Bon appetit,
