    Hi!My sister,two kids 9&13 and I will be sailing Disney's Dream late January; We'd like to be prepared as possible for the weather/rocking motion of shipWhat's ideal to expect for this time of yr. to the Bahamas? Hoping for warm weather!

    Ahoy Nicole –

    Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel. There is nothing better than escaping the “blah” of winter to enjoy a sunny vacation with Disney Cruise Line! The Disney Dream is an absolutely lovely ship that is filled to the brim with plenty of fun. Your pirate crew will have an amazing time onboard.  I think that late January is one of the more perfect times to sail since your crowds are relatively low, the sun is not too hot, and prices are generally lower.

    When I sail during that time of the year, I usually bring skirts and maxi dresses to enjoy myself in the Bahamas since the highs will be in the mid 70’s during the day. You may notice some cooler weather on the decks in the evening as well as the air conditioning onboard so bring some sweaters for layering. I found the water at Castaway Cay to be a bit chilly for me, but my sea pups jumped in without a second thought. Remember that pools on deck are heated if the temperature drops below 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

    We did not notice too much rocking of the ship, but since I am very prone to motion sickness, I always bring a motion sickness patch and nausea medicine to prepare.
