Hi there, Kimberly!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad you sailed by with your question about a future Disney Cruise Line vacation. If you have never been on a Disney Cruise before, you are in for a wonderful adventure – especially an
Alaskan itinerary! There is so much to do and see there, it is a vacation that you won’t forget!
It’s always a great idea to book a future cruise – or placeholder – while onboard a Disney Cruise Line vacation for a couple reasons…first, you will be having SO MUCH fun and when you don’t want the fun to end, you just plan for your next adventure at sea and secondly, to take advantage of the onboard future cruise booking specials! I never disembark a cruise without booking my next Disney Cruise Line vacation and recommend that no one else does either! Your sister will be able to book a placeholder (or the future cruise if dates have been released and you have your sailing date nailed down) for up to two cabins on her upcoming sailing. I did this exact thing recently when I booked a stateroom for my sister and her family to sail with us on a future cruise. We chose to book just a “placeholder” because we were unsure of the date we were going to sail and have up to 24 months from the date we booked the placeholder to sail!
Make sure your sister has the most current version of the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app downloaded to her smartphone before she gets onboard because it allows you to put your name in the queue for the Future Cruise desk and will alert her when her turn in line approaches! This is so helpful when you are busy enjoying the ship and don’t want to miss a thing!
