Hi. My mother is planning on joining us at Animal Kingdom Lodge to surprise my daughter on her 6th birthday. Do I need to contact the hotel to let them know there will be an extra guest staying, even though I don't need an additional room?

Hello and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

First, let me be the first to wish your daughter a "happy birthday!"  Walt Disney World and a surprise visit from grandma...MAGICAL!  It does not get any better than this.  This is one birthday your little princess will never forget.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is a beautiful resort!  It is one of my favorites.  The sights and sounds put you right in the heart of Africa.  I constantly have to remind myself that I am in Florida.  It is important for you to notify Disney of any changes to guests staying on property.  All guests must be accounted for, so please call (407)939-5277 and a Cast Member will be happy to add you mother to your resort room should the number of guests allow for your current reservation.

Diane's Tip of the Day:  Want to make shopping for Disney souvenirs easy? Download the Shop Disney Parks App and let your fingers do all the work.

Have a MAGICAL day and "SEE YOU REAL SOON!"
