Hi! My 3 y/o loves animals. I was planning to stay in a room at the Animal Kingdom resort with a view of the savanah. However, I was wondering if there are a lot of animals for her to view from the balcony or will she see a "parklike view" ?

There are many areas where the animals can be viewed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  If you are lucky enough to reserve a Savannah view room then you will have the opportunity to view them from your balcony.  The backdrop of the savannahs is one to look like their natural habitat with trees and vegetation and watering holes.  The disney staff will even come up with creative ways to feed the animals putting food inside trunks and hanging off limbs.  When I have stayed at this resort I often am just as mesmerized with the staff hard at work on the savannahs as I am of watching the animals themselves.

Please understand that the animals are free to roam the savannahs and there are no guarantees as to what or when you will see them from your room.  The last time I was there we found the best time was late in the afternoon.  Often the weather is playing a part as the animals will stay under shade and near water during the heat of the day.  At night if you can't see them you can often hear them munching away out in the darkness giving you a real taste of an authentic experience!
