Hi, My kids( 8 & 4)are going to Disney for the first time.I have planned dinner at Cinderella's table and HOPEFULLY my son can do the Jedi Training.Any other "can't miss" kids things I should plan? This will be our only trip for a LONG time.

    Hi Wendy:

Disney World promises to be a memorable vacation for you and your children just being together in the Parks.  It's even more special that you are going out of your way to make the trip even more memorable.  There are so many special experiences at Walt Disney World.  Here are a few ideas.

Your daughter can be transformed into a princess and your son into a knight at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.  If they are more rough and tumble, consider pirate makeovers at The Pirate's League.  Your children will go into The Pirates League civilians and leave as pirates with new pirate names, a pirate look, a pirate oath, and some sweet new swashbuckling maneuvers.  Maybe also take a ride on the Pirates and Pals specialty fireworks cruise voyage.

I would make sure to take your family to Downtown Disney for some food and shopping (there's an awesome Lego store there).  The highlight for my family is Characters in Flight, which offers a fun family experience with a 360 degree breathtaking view of Disney World property and beyond.

I'm not sure when you plan to visit Walt Disney World, but visit the Special Events page for information on seasonal concerts, parades, parties, and other events.

    Enjoy this special vacation.
