Hi, My husband and I are celebrating our first anniversary in Disney World the last week of september. I really want to surprise him with stuff in our room and throughout the parks. I know about the florists but want something more. Any suggestions?

    Hi, Allison!

Happy Anniversary! WDW is a great place to celebrate. Start your celebration when you book your resort making a note on your reservation that this is a special occasion. My Prince Charming and I celebrated our anniversary in WDW a few years ago and they had special "Celebration" buttons for us at check-in.

As you mentioned, the Disney Florist is a great place to start. They can create items and packages beyond what you see on their website at www.DisneyFlorist.com so give them a call to see what ideas they might have for in-room deliveries.

At table service meals, let the cast member at the podium know you are celebrating. They will often treat you with a special dessert or at least a special mention to the happy couple! You can even have a cake ordered and delivered to your table. Ask at the podium for cake details.

You may want to bring along a special anniversary card.  Have the characters sign it as you meet them throughout the parks. This will be a very special keepsake.

Plan a romantic evening at the secluded end of the Polynesian Beach (heading toward Grand Floridian) where you can find a quiet hammock to watch Wishes from the Magic Kingdom. Stop by the bar for a tropical beverage to enjoy during your romantic night.  Another fun idea would be to head to Downtown Disney to enjoy Characters in Flight, a tethered helium balloon that floats 400 feet above Village Lake.  The nighttime views are amazing!

When checking in, you may want to sneak down to your Resort Concierge to ask for any special ideas that they have that you can enjoy.  They might have some great ideas, too!  However you decide to celebrate, I am sure it will be super special.  Take lots of pictures that you can treasure for years to come. Happy Anniversary and wishing you a very "Happily Ever After!"
