Hi. My husband and I will be attending the Food and Wine Festival for the first time this September. It will be just the two of us with no children. What is the best option for moderate resorts and is the Dining Plan worth it for two days at the F&WF?

Hi Dawn! Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel once again!

It is always a pleasure to answer an old friend of the Disney Parks Moms Panel like you!

It sounds like you and your husband will have a lot of fun in September! My husband and I visited the Walt Disney World Resort in October and we enjoyed the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival very much!

If you have the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival in mind, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter are your best Moderate choices. Since you and your husband are traveling with no kids, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter may be THE perfect option, as it is the smallest Disney Hotel and feels more intimate.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon there and we enjoyed many evenings walking through this resort and it felt awesome. It is quiet but very well themed and gives you access to very romantic boat rides to the Disney Springs area. Its rooms have recently undergone a great renovation and they feel amazing with new hardwood floors.

The Dining Plans can be great resources for Guests who'd like to pay for their meals in advance, especially if you consider that many items served at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival count as snack credits and that you can convert each meal credit into three snack credits at your Disney Hotel. But because the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is all about serendipity, my husband and I like to pay out of pocket as we go - especially because we enjoy the wine part of the festival very, very much!

I hope you and your husband have the most amazing days at the Walt Disney World Resort, so, please, come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you want more tips. We will always be here for you!

May the magic be with you,

    Julie
