Welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you came to us with this thoughtful question. What a great friend you are! Purchasing a gift card for your friend for her upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation is such a thoughtful gesture. I’m certain that she would greatly appreciate it.
Unfortunately, guests in the UK cannot directly purchase Disney gift cards online. While I know this isn’t the best news to hear, I do have a few suggestions for alternative solutions. For one, you can gift your friend the dollar amount you intended to give her in cash. I know that’s not as much fun as a gift card, but I did want to mention it. If cash isn’t an appealing option, you can purchase a prepaid travel card with the dollar amount that you planned to gift her loaded onto it. An easy internet search should return several options that are sold in the UK and can be used at Disney World.
If neither of these options seems appealing, my final suggestion would be to head to the
UK Disney Store website and purchase a
gift card there specifically so that she can purchase merchandise for her trip before she leaves. These gift cards cannot be used in the US parks so she would need to use it for this specific purpose, but can’t we all use a few new
Donald Duck T-shirts before we head to Disney World? On your own next visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth it might not be a bad idea to purchase a few Disney gift cards in person. This would give you the ability to have a gift card on demand and ready to gift as needed. Just a thought!
