Hi Emily!
Congratulations on your upcoming bundle of joy! What better way to celebrate than a Disney cruise with the whole family.
As you transition from a family of 4 to a party of 5, that also means your reservation will need to be for a stateroom category that accommodates 5 Guests. On the
Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream, that would mean a Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom (Category 8) or a Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with a Verandah (Category 4). The key is the word “Family” being in there. On the
Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, the only stateroom that will work is the Category 4 Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah.
First,
contact Disney Cruise Line to add a Guest to your reservation. I would go ahead and do that now so that if you need to change stateroom categories to accommodate 5 Guests, they can go ahead and check for availability. Then once your bambino has made an entrance into the world, you will need to update your reservation to include your little one's name and information. For most cruises, guests need to be six months old on the day of sailing. If you are on a Transatlantic, Panama Canal or Hawaii cruise, your child would have to be one year old to sail.
Fortunately, Disney Cruise Line makes
traveling with little ones a breeze! For one, complimentary diaper disposal units, bottle warmers, bottle sterilizers, cribs, and playpens are available upon request from the stateroom host/hostess or through Guest Services. Given that these items are in limited supply, I would request them upon boarding from Guest Services (Deck 3, Midship).
Here’s a planDisney tip: take advantage of the
"it's a small world" nursery. Nursery time requires an additional fee and spots do fill quickly, so be sure to make your reservations as soon as your
Advance Booking Window opens.
Emily, drop us a message in a BOTTLE if you think of any additional questions-we'd be happy to help!
Happy Sailing!
Sherry
