Hi,me again. We are going to mickey backyard bbq after visiting water park. Is it  hard to get to Fort wilderness resort using Disney transport bus or how do you suggest getting there and how long will it take? TIA

Hi Nicola Michelle! It sounds like you have a great day planned for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. Cooling off in a water park during the day and then ending it with a fun evening at the Mickey's Backyard Barbecue is a fun plan.

From the water park you are visiting you will simply catch the Fort Wilderness bus. The trip will take about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Typhoon Lagoon is in the middle of the road reconstruction for Disney Springs so you need to add a bit of time from that water park to your destination. Once you arrive at Fort Wilderness the bus will drop you off in the front of the resort. Simply stay there and look for the orange route internal bus that will take you to the other end of the resort where Mickey's Backyard Barbecue is located. It will be just a short walk from there.

If you have time visit the Disney stables where all the great horses from the parks call home. You can even see Cinderella's ponies in the area outside. After the Barbecue consider taking a boat back to the Magic Kingdom where you can quickly get a bus back to your resort directly. You don't have to go into the park but simply walk from the boat area to the bus area which is just a few feet away. The Fort Wilderness marina is just outside the entrance to the barbecue so it's very convenient.

Be sure you give yourself plenty of time to make your bus connections realizing that there might be waits for each bus. Your day will be full but with all the magic you will experience it will be memorable! Have a great time!
