Hello, Angelica!
Welcome to planDisney. I am excited that you can experience Walt Disney's original theme park now that you live in California! Both
Disneyland Resort and
Walt Disney World Resort hold special places in my heart. I cannot wait for you to experience all that Disneyland has to offer!
It sounds like you know that Disneyland has two theme parks:
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park. Visiting both parks in one day is very easy, since the two parks are within a short walking distance of each other. This is why I usually recommend Park Hopper Tickets. I often spend part of the day in one park and then head over to the other park for dinner and nighttime entertainment. It's the best of both worlds!
However, I know it can be easier to focus on just one park per day, which lets you dive in and enjoy everything that park has to offer! In Disneyland Park, my youngest child's favorite Disneyland-exclusive attraction is
Matterhorn Bobsleds. I think we rode it twice each day on our last trip! It is a fast mountain coaster where you zip through icy tunnels and dodge sharp turns. It is a lot of fun! Some of my other favorite unique attractions in Disneyland Park include the following (many of which are in
Fantasyland):
- Indiana Jones Adventure
- Alice in Wonderland
- Storybook Land Canal Boats
- Snow White's Enchanted Wish
- Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
- Pinocchio’s Daring Journey
- Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin
- Chip 'n' Dale's GADGETcoaster
I also find it fun to compare attractions that can be found at both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney World! These include: Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Tiana's Bayou Adventure, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway.
Before heading to Disneyland, I recommend downloading the
Disneyland app to get familiar with the park maps. You can also find the full list of attractions in each park on the app, just like you can on the My Disney Experience app.
If you moved to Southern California, I also suggest looking at the current
3-Day California Resident Park Ticket Offer once your government-issued ID has been updated to reflect your new address. It's a fantastic promotion that is available on most days through May 21, 2026, as long as park reservations are available. Just note that it’s only for residents living in ZIP codes 90000–96199, and you will need to show a valid government‑issued photo ID when you enter the parks.
Angelica, I hope this information was helpful! Please contact planDisney again if you have other questions!
Magic Happens!
