Hi, Just finished the ToT 10-mi and am registered for the TB 1/2 at DLR. I haven't tried the walk-run method but am considering it for the 1/2 since I struggled after mile 8 in the ToT. Are there many walk/runners at a 1/2? Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Hi Danielle!

I am so glad you asked me this!  The run/walk method has been a lifesaver for me!  I was also struggling with longer runs, and gave it a shot.  It's amazing!  Not only do I finish my races faster than when I try to run the entire time, but I also have remained healthier and feel great at the end of the race. I like to play around with my intervals during training, and use whatever feels comfortable on race days.

You will see tons of run/walkers at all of the runDisney races, including the half and full marathons.  I ran/walked the full marathon in January and there was a high percentage of participants doing the same.

I think that Jeff Galloway's run/walk/run method (www.jeffgalloway.com) has really opened up the sport to so many people who are intimidated at the thought of running such a long way.  Even on a "bad" day, I know I can get through one minute at a time, and then I get a break!

Definitely give  it a shot!  I hope you love it as much as I do!  Please let me know if you have any other questions.
