Hi, Is there a set mealtime for breakfasts and lunch on the Dream? We’re off to Norway in August and I understand the meal rotation for dinner, but can’t see if there’s a set time allocated to us for breakfast? And what’s an embarkation lunch? Thanks!

    Ahoy Jacqui!

Welcome back to planDisney!  I'm so happy you cruised by to see us again as you get ready to set sail on the Disney Dream!  I love the Dream. . .and not just because it's the ship I've sailed on the most in the fleet!  It's the perfect setting for your magical vacation and I know you must be excitedly counting down to your trip!

Jacqui, aboard the Disney Dream you'll find no shortage of places to enjoy delicious meals!  At dinner, you'll have an assigned dining time and participate in rotational dining if you're choosing to eat in the main restaurants.  However, breakfast and lunch are a bit more laid back.  For breakfast, you can find a huge selection of items on the buffet at Cabanas or you will typically find one of the main restaurants open for a plated breakfast.  You won't have an assigned time but instead can check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App for details on which restaurants are open and what the hours are for breakfast.  If you choose to stop by for a plated meal, the servers will seat you and gladly take care of your order - no reservations needed!  My family loves having a relaxed, seated breakfast at one of the restaurants on "At Sea" days.  On debarkation day, you'll have an assigned breakfast time and location (the same restaurant of your final dinner typically) for your farewell meal before leaving the ship.

Boarding the ship usually begins around lunchtime and continues throughout the early afternoon.  The crew is waiting to greet you with cheers, applause, and a hearty lunch once you board.  On embarkation day, you can typically choose between heading up to the pool deck for a buffet lunch at Cabanas or enjoying a plated lunch at one of the main restaurants.  This restaurant can change depending on the sailing, but you'll be able to find the latest information in your Disney Cruise Line Navigator App!

I also can't leave without recommending a reservation at Palo for dinner one night.  This adult-exclusive restaurant is an experience like no other.  The Italian menu is out of this world and they have a wine selection to match.  My husband and I have sometimes ended up dining here multiple nights on a trip!

Jacqui, I hope this information helps as you get ready to embark on a DREAM-y cruise!  Remember that you are always welcome to be our guest here at planDisney and we hope you stop by to see us again if you have any other questions in the future!

    Cheers,
    Kristi
