Hi! I'm taking my 7yr old son for his first trip (Christmas present), but where going January 2-11, 2014. I was wondering if you had any tips on what to pack as far as clothes are concerned? Also he's really picky, is a dinning plan worth the cost?

    Hi Jennifer!

Weather in January can be downright pleasant or quite chilly.  I'd absolutely check the extended forecast at weather.com (zip code 32830) 3-4 days prior to your vacation to get a better idea of the forecasted temperatures for your vacation.

Highs during this period average in the low 70s, and lows average in the upper 40s, low 50s.  Definitely pack a light jacket and some pants in case of a cold snap!

Picky eaters are difficult to plan for.  If you plan on dining at many character dining locations, I would go ahead with the Dining Plan because of the expense.  If you've already reserved several buffets, the cost can add up quickly, and make the Dining Plan a great value!  I'd also keep my eyes out for a Free Dining Promotion for your vacation dates, by checking the Special Offers page.  That'll make the decision really easy for you!  Disney also has a great kids menu at most locations that will usually please those picky eaters.

    Have a magical vacation!
