Hi, I’m taking my wife to LA for her 40th birthday next year. On her birthday which is the 15th April, I just wanted to know what the best place in Disney is to celebrate her birthday with a nice meal? As I haven’t a clue.

Oh boy, Nathan! What a very special visit you have coming up to the Happiest Place on Earth! Thank you for reaching out to planDisney with this very thoughtful question. I can't wait to chat with you about a birthday celebration idea for your wife!

Because every Guest has their own preferences, I'll share with you how I celebrated my 40th birthday in Disneyland, to hopefully spark an idea for you. My family and I dined at the dreamy Blue Bayou Restaurant and it's a memory I'll always cherish! This dining location is so special, with its perpetual twilight and views of those iconic Pirates of the Caribbean boats gliding by.

My recommendation to snag tough-to-get dining reservations, like at the Blue Bayou, is to be logged into your account on the Disneyland website a few minutes before 6am PST, exactly 60 days out from the date you're wanting to visit - and make a wish! Then at check-in for your dining reservation, let the host know that you would like a table by the water. While not guaranteed, Cast Members will do their very best to accommodate your request and being by the water adds such a magical element!

Tip: During your time in the parks, Nathan, make sure to grab a complimentary celebratory button for your wife! They can be found at City Hall on Main Street in Disneyland Park or the Chamber of Commerce on Buena Vista Street in California Adventure. You may also ask a Cast Member in any of the shops, too, and they'll usually be able to point you in the right direction to find yourself a celebratory button. It'll be so special for your wife to hear those "Happy Birthdays" all visit long!

Well, Nathan, I hope this has been helpful for you in your planning, and that you have the most magical visit to Disneyland. But, even more than that, I sincerely wish your wife the happiest of celebrations - but of course she will, because she's got you!

If you have any other questions or would like some additional tips on celebrations in Disneyland, like how to experience the magic of Disneyland's 70th Celebration, don't hesitate to reach out again anytime! We're happy to help and love a party!

    Warmest wishes,
    McCayla

Meet the Panelist: McCayla, Washington

Hello from the Pacific Northwest! I'm McCayla, a wife and mom dreaming of adventure in the great wide somewhere, yet also completely content watching Toy Story from the couch. My love of Disneyland began as a little girl on Peter Pan's Flight and only grows with each visit. But even when I'm not physically at the Happiest Place on Earth, I truly feel that same joy when I can help others (YOU!) experience the magic of Disneyland Resort too.
