Hi! I'm from Singapore and we're visiting Disney World next week from 10-17 Dec. My son happens to turn 12 while we are there and a friend told me that he will get free entry on his birthday? Does that mean I don't have to buy a ticket for him that day?

    Hi there, Christina!

What a great place to celebrate a birthday -- your family is going to have a blast.

Happy early birthday to DS! He must be so excited!

The free entry for the birthday celebrant is no longer applicable. That was a special promotion for the 2009 calendar year, and is not being offered at this time. You will need to purchase a ticket for him to enter the Parks on that day.

Do make sure to stop by Guest Relations at any Park or at your Resort front desk and pick up a complimentary "Happy Birthday" button for him to wear (he can do so all vacation!). Everyone in your traveling party can also get an "I'm Celebrating" button, which can be personalized with DS's name and age. Keep the buttons on; you never know what pixie dust might be sprinkled on you!

Think of his excitement when he sees his Resort room decked out just for his birthday! A quick call to the Disney Dream Makers at (407) WDW-GIFT, and you'll be planning the surprise of a young life!

Character dining is especially exciting on a birthday! Try to grab a reservation at one of the many character dining meals throughout the Resort by calling (407) WDW-DINE, and make sure to tell the Cast Member who assists you that you have a birthday in your party.  In fact, tell every server at your table service restaurants!! Disney loves to celebrate with you!

You can also call 48 hours in advance of a meal and have a custom cake delivered to your table. The "cakeline" is (407) 827-2253.

    Have a great time!

    See you later, celebrator,
