Ole Vidar! Are you kidding me?!? I'm covered in goosebumps thinking of your upcoming marriage proposal on the Disney Magic! You
have to make sure that someone films it for you.
First of all, that's super-duper romantic, and you are one smart cookie to have planned this. I personally think you should plan it for the first evening you're on board. You'll be able to relax for the rest of the cruise, and she'll be able to enjoy the voyage knowing that you are not only embarking on
this journey together but a lifetime together, too. (You can use that line if you wish!)
I suggest making a reservation for Palo for that evening. If you're giving her a ring, you can drop off the ring with the head server there that afternoon, and ask to present it with the Chocolate Souffle at dessert. You can also brainstorm with the staff about how to make the presentation meaningful...I'm sure they have ideas for such a romantic setting and occasion!
My other idea is to meet and talk with the cruise director when you first board. S/he may have an idea of how to make it a more public occasion by getting everyone's attention either prior to a live stage show or in the atrium lobby during a character greeting. Of course, that takes a little more nerve than a private proposal!
Also...the pros at
Disney Weddings have all sorts of suggestions (and connections) for proposals, weddings and honeymoons -- everything from sweet and simple to over the top!
Will you let me know how it goes? And come back if you have more questions. Have a wonderful day, a magical vacation and best of luck as you propose! Bon voyage and best wishes!
