Hi there, Karen!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for stopping by with your question about your upcoming stop at
Walt Disney World Resort! My family has sailed on a Disney Cruise Line voyage that stopped in Port Canaveral for a day at the theme parks and it was such a fun treat! Since Disney Cruise Line is not departing from New York in April, I am going to assume that you are on another cruise line, which sounds just as magical!
First things first, as you are aware, the theme parks are about an hour drive from Port Canaveral, so you certainly want to factor that travel time into your day and ensure that you give yourself plenty of time to make it back to your ship by the scheduled “All Aboard” time, especially if you have an early departure! If you have private transfers arranged to and from the port then you will want to adhere to their recommendations as far as timing goes as they are much more familiar with the travel time and traffic during the day so their recommendation will be your best guide as to how long you spend at the theme parks. Also be sure to check out the
park hours calendar to see the currently scheduled hours for your visit which can also help plan your day!
Theme park tickets are available online and will be the best way to guarantee that you have what you need when you arrive at the theme parks! While always subject to change, the current pricing for a one-day ticket to 1 theme park on the day you will be visiting is $139 for ages 10 and up and $134 for Guests ages 3-9. If you prefer to visit more than one theme park in the day then you will need to purchase an admission ticket with a Park Hopper option which is currently priced at $199 for ages 10 and up and $194 for Guests ages 3-9.
If you have any other questions about your magical day at the theme parks, please come back and visit us again!
