Hi, I'm considering surprising my 6 year old with a surprise trip to disney in February (her 1st). Some people are saying she is too young. Thoughts?

    Hi Heather,

What a wonderful surprise to give her.  I have been taking my daughter to Walt Disney World and Disneyland since she was 2 years old.  She does not really remember anything from that trip, but since then she has been back about 10 more times from the age of 3 to 8 and every time she has been "refreshed" and definitely recognized the Disney "magic", music, characters, etc....  Although I have started very young with my daughter and most would say it was too young, I really believe that she has "taken in the atmosphere" early on and it has made an impression on her for each trip that has followed.  I think 6 years old is a very nice age to start your daughter on her first trip to Walt Disney World and she will be able to remember a lot of things at this age.  I would go with your gut instinct and if you would like to take her to WDW for a vacation, I would go with that and not listen to what everyone else may think.  All in all I believe you will both have a very magical trip and memories that will last a lifetime!

    Best wishes,
    Brigitta
