Hi! I'm coming in November! So excited. I have type 1 diabetes, and saw that I could get a guest assistance card. Is that true? And where would I get it? Thanks!

    Hi Liz!

November is an excellent time to visit Walt Disney World, the holiday festivities makes this time of year extra magical!  Disney's guest assistance card or GAC helps guests to accommodate needs based on their abilities.  When requesting a guest assistance card you will need to explain to the cast member what specific accommodations need to be made in order to enhance your experience at Walt Disney World.  For example, I know that sometimes waiting in the heat can lower a persons blood sugar so you would be escorted to an area where you can wait outside of the heat.  Most ride queues at Walt Disney World are typically covered or inside so you would only need to use it on certain attractions.  If the wait time is fairly short, you may not need to use it at all since some special waiting areas could actually cause you to wait longer.

You can request a guest assistance card at any Guest Relations, which will be validated for your length of stay.  Remember that the cast members need to know what accommodations you require, not just the medical condition in order to assist your more effectively.  I hope you have a wonderful vacation and please let me know if you have anymore questions!

    Enjoy your Disney Time!
