Hi! I'm bringing a scooter into the parks. (Walt Disney World) Is there a list or a map of where I can charge my battery in the parks? And at disney springs? Thank you!

    Hi Sandra,

Welcome back to planDisney! So glad you're here with this thoughtful question. My mom travels with us to Walt Disney World often and she always either rents an ECV from Walt Disney World or from a third-party rental service. What we've noted on our vacations is that as long as she charges the battery overnight, the ECV almost always lasts throughout the day. We've only had one instance where it did not, and we returned the ECV to replace it with another. We were pretty sure we'd been given a dud, but the next one worked like a charm.

With that said, she does always carry her charging cable and is always ready to give the ECV a little juice as needed. I love that you will also be prepared to do this on your vacation. Here's my suggestion: when you sit down for meals, look around for open areas where there might be an outlet that you can use to charge up. Several quick-service restaurants such as Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom and Connections Eatery in EPCOT have accessible outlets that you can use to get your ECV all charged up midday if the need arises.

There will also be areas near and inside restrooms where outlets are available, like just outside the Tangled restrooms in Fantasyland or inside the Main Street train station on the lower level in Magic Kingdom.  My fellow panelist Brent mentions some pretty cool location suggestions here as well.

If all else fails Sandra, ask a cast member! They would be more than happy to point you to a safe location where you can charge your trusty sidekick for a bit. While you're here and in a planning state of mind, I want to be sure that you know about the Disney World Guests with Disabilities Overview. The Mobility guide has some great information that you might find helpful such as information on the dedicated load and unload areas for attractions, attraction queue access information and more. Be sure to check it out when you can.

I hope this information was helpful, Sandra! If you need any additional help with planning come on back. We'll see ya real soon!
