Love your question! Sometimes moms need a mini-vacation from our family vacations, too! Okay, Karen...I have investigated a couple of options for you:
1. You could schedule a
Pirate Adventure Cruise which sets sail from Port Orleans Riverside. The Pirate Adventure Cruises are for children ages 4-12 which also set sail
from the Grand Floridian, the Caribbean Beach, and the Yacht and Beach Clubs on select days. It's
essentially the same cruise with pirate stories, bandannas and treasure
hunts although the pirate stories may vary according to location. This
activity usually sets sail from 9:30-11:30 a.m., and you can call
407-WDW-PLAY for more information and to book a cruise for your pirate. After you've made sure that your pirate has safely set sail, you can then board a boat to Downtown Disney, eat a quick breakfast at the Earl of Sandwich and do some shopping.
2. Or, you can book your son's Pirate Adventure Cruise at the Grand Floridian and schedule a spa experience at the
Grand Floridian Resort & Spa by calling 407-824-2332. There is also a
Kids' Activity Center at the Grand Floridian as well in case you'd like more than a couple of hours to yourself. Just remember that the activity centers usually don't open until mid to late afternoon but are open until around midnight.
I hope this helps with your planning and your time to yourself! Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
